Commission terms

How a commission unfolds

Tell me your idea and I will reply personally. I can paint to most sizes and provide you with a quote and my full Terms and Conditions.

You share the idea

Write to me about your subject, mood and any reference material you have. Nothing needs to be decided yet.

A conversation

I reply personally to discuss format, medium, composition and budget, and we confirm the scope in writing.

Painting begins

Once we have agreed scope and schedule, I begin the painting. You receive updates and photographs as it develops.

Delivery

I document the finished painting, pack it carefully and deliver it, with a certificate signed by me.

A commissioned painting is usually ready in around 6–8 weeks, and I agree the exact timing with you before I begin.

I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit before I begin a commissioned painting.
